Unit 8 gave an overview of the different future tenses. Future simple and the 'going to' future are the most commonly used future tenses and are often taught together. While future simple expresses more spontaneous plans and non-evidence based predictions, the 'going to' future is based on previously set plans and evidence based predictions.
Like the other tenses, the future also has a continuous, perfect and perfect continuous form. These are formed and used similar to their present and past counterparts, except for, obviously, taking place in the future and being formed with the future simple.
In certain instances, for example describing timetables and schedules, simple present and present continuous can also be used to express the future.
Besides the grammatical explanations this unit also gave several teaching ideas for each future tense.
