I never realized how much influence our brain has on receptive skills. By reading the definitions about the different skills I'm able to understand them. They are all very different but all contribute to understand what we are reading. Not being able to fully understand the text is a common problem with students. Really understanding the sentence takes a lot more time then just a quick look at the sentence. That is why it's so important to read slowly.
