The unit on teaching a new language provided the teacher with the opportunity to explore the ESA method introduced in Unit 3. This time, however, the focus was on the learning of a new language through vocabulary, grammatical structures, and language functions. This unit gave examples of teaching these parts of a language, and showed the teacher which ESA structure would be more comparable with each of the different parts of language. After studying this unit, teachers will have a better understanding of the language components that need to be taught and of how to effectively teach them.
