As I was lucky enough for receiving a complete and thorough course of phonology, this unit served me really well as a reminder. However, it also brought to light the different techniques through which I was myself taught when I was studying at university. What i know for sure is that the teacher's pronunciation must be as accurate as possible in order for the students to the best english speakers they can be. Confidence is also a key point as the students will very likely end up somewhat imitating their teacher, whose position in this case should be a lot more centred according to me. I personally never struggled with pronunciation, neither did I to understand the main principles of phonology, so this unit brought me the pieces of knowledge I lacked to be an efficient teacher regarding this area of the english language.
