This unit covered some of the more specific grammar rules, including auxiliary verbs and passive voice. The most important thing I leared was how to use phrasal verbs, as this was something I had never learned before. When teaching English, I have never fully been able to understand why a direct object is sometimes placed in the middle of the verb and the participle, but now I am able to describe the different types of phrasal verbs. Some phrasal verbs can be separated by a direct object and some cannot. It was also useful to review the passive transformation of the different tenses. While this is something that is natural to me when speaking and writing, this unit gave me a way to teach it concretely.
