.This unit talks about the most common problem situations that a teacher can face in the classroom and suggest some possible solutions. I learnt that during the first lesson the teacher might faced a class of New group , that is students who dont know each other and Existing group , students who already now each . Face with the former the teacher needs to establish rapport between the students etc ,find out the students need /aspiration with English , find out their English level. A questionnaire/survey ,pass the ball game , needs analysis are some activities that can to be used to achieve a good lesson when faced with a new group . Warmers are activities designed to motivated students using English and they are usually fun, short , communicative so it is very important for a teacher to start his or her lessons with warmers like : hangman ,pictionary.tongue twisters etc to make the students alert .In a situation where the teacher is teaching students from different levels ,he or she can use different materials while splitting the class into two stronger students , then weaker ones with each having a different materials appropriate to the levels. Also the teacher can use same material but different task , pair stronger students with weaker ones etc . The following can help a teacher to solve problems that arises when teaching a large class : use work sheets ,pair/group work , choral repetition ,appoint group leaders etc etc . In order for the students not to use their native language , a teacher can make sure the activities he or she uses are appropriate to the level being taught ,his or her explanations are clear to all the students ,encourage the use of English where appropriate ,etc . Finally reluctant students can be encouraged to speak by enabling the to use plenty of pair work ,use controlled practice , use role -play etc.
