In this unit I learned about the uses of course books and materials and their advantages and disadvantages. I learned about the 2 types of materials being authentic and created materials. I learned that both materials have their place in the classroom and that there should be a balanced mix of both to fit the needs of the students. I also learned the 4 options to keep in mind for course book use which are omit, replace, supplement, and adapt. These options make sure that the teacher doesn't rely too heavily on the course book.
