I learned about techniques and activities that focused on teaching productive or output skills - that is, speaking and writing. The things that I learned in this unit can help me help students communicate themselves. Teachers have to find a balance between accuracy and fluency in their lesson plans and activities. In this unit, I learned that students tend to be restrained or shy when it comes to speaking and their writing, so teachers have to positively encourage students to speak and interact with one another. There are a lot of activities that teachers can use, but I learned that games are particularly effective and they do not necessarily have to be complicated, but teachers - as always - have to be prepared. Anyone at any age enjoys games and games are a fun way to learn a language.
