This unit is a great introduction to the distinct roles of the teacher and the student. I have learned about how previous learners' experiences (especially older teenage learners and adults) can affect the way that they learn and how they are motivated. It was also interesting to see the many levels that students might be at in a simplified way. I have learned the characteristics of a good teacher, and have begun to think of ways in which I can motivate my students without trying to become their "friend" too quickly!
