This was a relatively short unit identifying the various types of tests an instructor would have to give or be familiar with. In my case, I will most likely be working with beginners (elementary school students) so some of these test types such as practice tests for external exams will likely not be relevant to my job. However, I am sure I will be involved in the administration of practice test and possibly diagnostic and placement tests as well. Understanding why we are testing is important because it may influence how we test and when we test. For example, a progress test would cover materials reviewed in a certain period of lessons whereas a practice test would be based on the official exam ( such as TOEFL).
