There always should be a good balance between the use of books and created material. Some books are very predictable and have in general a homogeneous structure, this good be boring for the students , but it also takes a challenge away from the students. Students can be highly stimulated by using authentic material. Let the students read an article that they like from a recent news paper or magazine and ask them why did they choose this article and what is it that got them interested by reading it.
