This Unit described in detail the forms and usages of the present tenses. It clarified some of the doubts I had between the different tenses. The Present Simple, which is constructed of the subject and the base form of the verb (conjugated for the third person singular) is used to speak about facts, truths and habits. To create negative, we use DO/DOES NOT. For questions, DO/DOES is at the beginning of the sentence except in the case of the verb 'to BE' which inverts with the subject. The Present Continuous, which is constructed of the subject, the verb 'to BE' (conjugated) and the base verb+ing,is used to speak about actions in progress at or around the time of speaking. To create the negative, add NOT after the verb 'to BE'. For questions, the verb 'to BE' inverts with the subject. The Present Perfect, which is constructed of the subject, the verb 'to HAVE' (conjugated) and the past participle, is used to speak about indefinite, unfinished past actions and past actions with present results. To create the negative, add NOT after the verb 'to HAVE'. For questions, the verb 'to HAVE' inverts with the subject. The adventure of Present Perfect is that there are many irregular verbs. The Present Perfect Continuous, which is constructed of the subject, the verb 'to HAVE', BEEN, and the verb+ing, is used to speak about complete and ongoing activities with duration and recently finished activities with present results. To create the negative, add NOT between the auxiliary verbs ('to HAVE and BEEN). While, for questions, the subject is between the auxiliary verbs.
