Listening and reading skills are equally important. Having a large vocabulary to understand difficult text are always very helpful. When starting an assignment with new vocabulary it is very helpful to go explain some of the more difficult words before the start of the assignment. Explaining some of the words will add clarity to the assignment and many students will understand the assignment better.
