The first impression means a lot, like people used to say we judge the book by its cover. Lesson one should be a regular lesson itself, that I always thought and did in the past. We talk about ourselves, we have a relaxing atmosphere while introducing content. Another thing I would definitely recommend is to pre-teach all the difficult words and some new vocabulary before students start working on their own.
