This unit certainly grounded the idea of knowing the student or students. It clear that one student will be different from another, likewise groups and culture. As I have been a practicing teacher in different foreign countries with a mix of customs and backgrounds, I have faced many challenges. This unit covered what is necessary to prepare for teaching. So, overall it was good to review and learn it in this context. As I said, I learned how to teach by diving in the deep end lets say. It would be helpful to give more examples on the video side, showing the different dynamics in a classroom setting or even a 1 on 1, say in a cafe or home... never the less the meaning in both supplementary materials gives the unit a complete overview and idea for us teachers to understand the differences among our current or future students.
