Teaching special groups was the topic for this unit. Teaching beginners was covered and I learned that there are many categories of beginners and many students fall into two or three of those categories. This was interesting to learn, because I hadn't been aware of the different categories of beginners. Teaching individual students and what is required when teaching 1-1 lessons is covered. I was interested to read and learn about what the different requirements an individual student may have compared to a group. The requirements for teaching children and the differences compared to adults is outlined. I found this section helpful to better my understanding and to prepare me for teaching children in the future. Business English and English for Specific Purposes is detailed and studied. This was my first introduction to this type of teaching. I was curious to learn about what it is used for and who requires this type of English teaching.
