I was really happy to read this unit because I think it is important to remember that when you are teaching English Language Learners that you should remember that it is really helpful when the common language in the class is English.
If you look at the dynamics of my students I have beginners, false beginners, young beginners, and beginners without the roman alphabet. I really liked reading this chapter because it helped me to remember that all of my students come from different backgrounds and learn in all different ways. Sometimes I get frustrated as a teacher and maybe the reality is that I am going to fast for my students and I need to remember to slow down.
