This unit overviewed all the materials and equipment that may be needed for effective classroom teaching. While some of the equipment seems a bit outdated, such as cassette players, this unit helped me consider how to make lessons more engaging and interactive with video recordings, youtube clips, visual aids and worksheets. The most useful part of the lesson for me was creating a lesson plan based around a comedy sketch. As no further structure was provided for this exercise, it forced me to have some creativity. I chose to create a lesson plan for more advanced students that focused on culture and cultural differences using a scene from the movie 'Elf' with Will Ferrell.
