This unit takes a look at the variety of materials that teachers can use in the classroom, the differences between authentic and created materials and provides with some examples of created materials such as crossword, word search, flash cards, picture stories and role-play cards. These samples are followed by listing advantages and disadvantages of using course books, suggestions of how to choose a course book and use it in an efficient way by replacing, supplementing, adapting the materials for the needs of students.
