Unit 20 presents the common problems that the teachers likely to face in the classroom. The unit starts off with the things a teacher should do in the first class of the course such as establishing rapport, finding out students' interest, strengths & weakness, and level of the language. The unit also proposes that teacher should do a light warm-up activity before conducting a lesson to get attention. While dealing with different level students, unit suggests the teacher should split up stronger students and weaker students and give them the same material but different tasks or suitable tasks for each group. In large classes, teacher's voice should be clear and loud for the students to comprehend what is going on in the classroom. Assigning groups and group leaders will help the teacher control the class and make activities faster than usual. The wanting to use the native language moments are problematic situations for the teachers. Explaining in student's language will help the student understand the meaning. To avoid these situations, unit suggests teachers should make sure the activities are suitable and fitting to the students level. Unit points out that every teacher will face a student who doesn't join or speak in class whether it may be a cultural or intimidation or confidence in his/her ability to communicate. Using pair works, role-plays and controlled practice will help the student breaks out of his/her shell.
