This unit elaborated upon how to manage that tricky first class. Using it primarily as a time to work up rapport, get to know your student's interests, their needs and desires for ESL, and their language level, will help the course flow smoothly down the track. The unit also highlighted how to manage difficulties in the classroom such as reluctancy, listening text issues, improper use of L1, large classes, and classes of different levels. This was a nice wrap up unit, and will be a good one to refer back to on the job!!
