This unit taught modals, phrasal verbs, and the passive voice. As a native speaker, I already know about and use these things when speaking and writing, but I did not know their formal names and categorizations. Modals and phrasal verbs are especially hard to explain to someone who is learning English, and we native speakers tend to take them for granted. I appreciated the advice on how to teach these grammar points. Teaching them as vocabulary items rather than straight grammar would be helpful when leading a lesson in the classroom.
