The second unit of the course goes through the different parts of speech. It introduces every category of words at a beginner’s level and explain their functions in a grammatical context. Most people probably know the word classes “nouns”, “verbs”, “adjectives”, “prepositions” etc. but the unit also discuss less common word classes like “gerunds” and classes within the classes like “transitive verbs” and “auxiliary verbs”.
I think it’s important to know not just how to make a proper sentence but the rules behind it. I feel more confident teaching English now that I’ve freshened up my knowledge in grammar.
