Firstly, Unit 18 discusses the modal auxiliary verbs, their various usages for different expressions. Because of the different usages and present/future/past tense of each auxiliary, this area could be difficult to understand for the students. Secondly, the unit explains about the passive voice where the object used in an active voice becomes the subject in passive voice but still conveying the same meaning. After passive voice, the unit follows up with the relative clause which is a dependent clause that modifies a noun gives further explanation about the noun. Lastly, the unit goes over about the phrasal verbs which consist of a verb and a particle. Then the unit explains about different types of phrasal verb such as intransitive verbs which can't be followed by a direct object, transitive verbs which can be separable but only the object pronoun can be inserted between not the object noun and transitive verbs which are inseparable. The unit suggests that teachers should use phrasal verb casually and naturally in the classroom to make students familiar with them.
