This unit focuses on teaching English to different types of people, such as children, business people, people from various language groups, people who do not know the Roman alphabet such as chines, Thai etc; This latter group presents even more challenges as their study of English will also have to focus on writing, obviously this will take even more time, energy and dedication. The unit did not say much on teaching this type of learners, which would have been of particular interest to me. I found the unit generally helpful in giving information regarding teaching these groups, but more so with teaching Business English and how to prepare in advance the group and the teacher him/herself by conducting needs analysis.
