This unit has taught me more about the importance of teaching the different skills involved with the receptive skills of reading and listening. I had known about the skimming and detailed reading of text, but had not thought that there was other means of reading text. Being able to teach the differences between these processes of reading will be very useful. Learning about the different listening skills is also interesting as I thought there was only one way of listening.
