Unit 20, the final unit, was on problems teachers might encounter when beginning a new class.It told us that at the beginning of a new class, we should build a rapport with our students,find out about them,find out their needs and requirements and their English level. It gave us suggestions of different activities on how to do this.The unit gave ideas and techniques to use in a mixed level class and in a large class including warm up exercises to break the ice.Another section of this unit told us how to encourage speaking English if in a monolingual class. The next to the last section was on how to deal with students who might be reluctant to speak English or participate and how to encourage them to speak English.The final section was on how to help a student better their listening skills and a few solutions we can apply. I have enjoyed this whole six month course tremendously and appreciate the detail in each unit.I feel I have more confidence now to teach any level! Thank you.
