Most of the time, the textbooks that the government gives to the schools is not well seen by many teacher of English. Some of the common excuses are that these books have not been graded for the level of English they need to teach, and that not all the contents are being covered in the book. Parents end up buying a new book, by another editorial which usually is more expensive and it has not a target audience (nationally) rather than the level they are going to be used. Instead of just following a trend by asking for more expensive books, teacher should be able to use the material they already have. In this country, the teacher "styles" in the use of coursebooks vary from the extremists who use them as a Bible and the ones who just ask for a replacement of the material. Having a new book, seven times more expensive and with most catchy name in cover would not ensure your student will be speak in English by the end of the term.
