There are many different aids that can be used in the classroom in order to make class more interesting. The board is great for writing, drawing, displaying posters/notes, and using as a projection surface for the OHP. Some schools are using interactive whiteboards or "smart boards." In order to limit complications, it is important to have training before using an IWB. Overhead projectors are great when preparing slides in advance, but can be tricky to set up. Visual aids mostly consist of pictures and real objects, and are great when demonstrating vocabulary. I feel that computers are a very important part of modern day teaching, and that the CLASS method can be very effective.
