This unit covers the various types of tests that can be used in the classroom as well as the different external exams that students may take and what reasons they make take these tests for. I learned the difference between a placement test and a diagnostic test, which I thought were the same thing but it turns out that a diagnostic test, while similar to a placement test, is often given at the beginning of a course, after students have already been placed, and is more in depth to give the teacher a better idea of where each student in class is in their learning and what things need to be focused on.
