This unit gave an informative overview of the the ways to evaluate students levels and progress. The importance of placement tests in order to place the student in his/her corresponding level, diagnostic tests at the beginning to determine what the student knows and doesn't know in order to focus on what needs to be targeted in future lessons as well as progress tests in order to gauge what the students have learned and need to learn or revise. The use of practice tests to prepare students for external examinations such as the TOEFL and IELTS in order to certify their level of english for purposes of studying or working in english speaking countries
