I learned a lot about different teaching methodologies, some of which I have personally experienced through my own schooling. The in depth breakdown of the Engage Study Activate methodology was very nice, including the different variations of it. From my experience of studying foreign language in the Peace Corps and on my own living in Mexico, immersion and the lexical approach were very effective. The grammatical-translation techniques used in my high school and university was much less effective, I really didn't learn how to think in the new language and didn't retain what was teaching. I plan to spend more time practicing the ESA methodology because it seems like a great way to keep students interested in the lesson while providing an immersive language environment.
