This lesson covered conditional statements and reported speech. I was gratified to see that, at least in these instances, there are rules - and they are more or less followed, although of course there are always exceptions. It seems strange to a native speaker who has had only minimal formal study of grammar to try to memorize principles she knows intuitively, although I could see how the formulas listed in this lesson would do much to help a non-native speaker. It will be comforting to assure students that rules in English do exist, and that when followed, it is possible to convey your ideas without error.
