The Unit describes the use of course books and lesson materials in teaching a target language. Two kinds of materials are presented: authentic materials (magazines, newspapers, songs, videos, etc.) and created materials (crosswords, gap fill activities and other priorly prepared tasks for students' practice). The Unit also explains what the advantages and disadvantages of different kinds of materials are, and how to use these materials the most effectively.
