Unit 9 gave an overview of planning for both a single day and as a sequence, and the most important criteria that should be followed when going about structuring your lessons/critiquing your own performance. The unit stressed that order and flexibility should go hand in hand when planning a lesson, and that a lot of the process comes down to intuition and experience when trying to figure out the appropriate means/timing of teaching a particular topic.
I'm really grateful that the unit provided a lesson planning/self evaluation template to use, and I will most certainly be making a stack of the blank forms as I start to plan my own. The only thing I wish the unit covered a little more in depth was for planning a sequence of lessons; I'd like see what a monthly/yearly calendar might look like when plotted out, as well as a chain block of how previous lessons might be adapted in lessons further on in the year.
