Unit 15 provided an overview of Evaluation and Testing methods that teachers will use in the classroom. The unit covered Tutorials, Evaluation by Students, as well as the different types of tests students will be subject to in a classroom Environment. So far as testing goes, the unit broke down the various types into further sub-strata. Internal testing--Progress Tests, Diagnostic Tests, Placement Tests, and Practice tests--are all used by teachers to track the needs, development and interests of students. External Tests--TOEFL, IELTS, Cambridge, etc.--are used by businesses, universities and those looking to test their understanding of English for a variety of purposes and situations.
While very short, this unit was chock full of information, and opened my eyes to the standardized tests that I should be familiar with when preparing students for the world outside the classroom.
