The use of materials in the classroom to teach a lesson is part of the lesson plan. There are authentic and non-authentic materials that teachers can work with. Either of them have advantages and disadvantages, but the aim is to use them properly so as to finally accomplish the objectives of the class. The reality varies as in some places they are provided with materials and others, teachers must create them. Course books are probably the most common materials in classes but factors such as availability in the region, affordability, difficulty, topics, extra guides, etc, must be taken into consideration when planning to use them.
