This unit was designed to inform prospective teachers of the different types of tests and exams that can be given within their classroom environments and externally by independent institutions. This knowledge is important in understanding students' personal and professional motivations for learning the English language. The module covered diagnostic, progress, placement, and external exam definitions and descriptions, and went in-depth in explaining when and how these different tests are utilized.
