This unit offers insight about how to manage a classroom properly and how to create the ideal learning environment for the students. For instance, throughout this unit, I learned how one's hand gesture, eye contact, voice and the calling of students' name can be used to convey messages and manage a classroom. Since these small actions are often done subconsciously, it's rather englightening to know that they can often convey a certain message and aids teachers in creating a proper learning environment.
In the second part of this unit, I have learned about different ways of grouping students for an activity (whole-class grouping, pairwork, individual, groupwork) and different class arrangements that the teacher can use.
In this last part of the unit, I have learned about how to behave like a teacher in a classroom setting, such as: how to give individual attention, maintain discipline, give out instructions, decrease unnecessary teacher's talking time, maintain discipline (which is rather important to keep every student in line), establishing rapport, and how to respond to problematic behavior.
