This unit was about evaluation and testing. Usually tests are divided on several groups and almost all of them can be use in language schools, except external exam. There are placement tests that are designed to place students into the correct classroom according to their language skills before ESL course. Diagnostic tests are almost the same as placement tests, but they are given at the start of the course to help prepare lessons and materials appropriate for students. Progress tests are given throughtout a course to see what students retained. And at last the prectice tests that are given in preparation for external exams such as TOEFL or IELTS.
