Unit 18 was the last of the grammar units, and for me it was certainly the most difficult! The unit started by giving us an explanation of modal auxiliary verbs--their uses, composition, and changes in past/future tenses (the chart provided was extremely helpful). Next the unit delved into the Passive voice, detailing why/when it would be used in speech, and how the passive voice can be formed in various tenses. The unit then gave a breakdown of clauses: independent, dependent, defining relative/non-defining relative, and the means by which to tell them apart. Finally, Unit 18 introduced us to phrasal verbs, and gave us the various types and rules associated with each type. I found this unit very challenging in that there was a lot of different topics to tackle; so much so that I thought each section could have probably been fleshed out into its own unit (though in the interests of organization, I understand why each section was presented together). I particularly found the 'passive voice' section difficult to get a firm holding with, but was extremely grateful to see a course video included on the topic.
