This unit describes two receptive skills of language learning, listening and reading. Where reading is "captured" language, language that the students can look back at and refer to as many times as they want, listening is "uncaptured", it is said once and then gone. There are different reasons that people read and listen, and that will be important in how you teach reading and writing and what skills you focus on for each reason.
