This unit discussed the pros and cons of using a text book for teaching English. I learned it is best to supplement the course book with other materials, such as authentic menus or newspaper articles. The unit provided examples of created materials. I especially liked the role-play cards because the students when working with each other are given scenarios that are unknown to the other, and this makes it very realistic to scenarios that happen in the real world.
