This unit describes different forms of verbs, clauses, and sentence forms including modal auxiliary verbs, relative clauses, and phrasal verbs. I learned the difference between a defining and an un-defining relative clause. If the phrase that describes a noun is not essential to the meaning of the sentence, it is un-defining and separated by commas. I also learned how to turn an active sentence into a passive sentence when the actor of the sentence is not important or known. For example, the pencil was taken is passive because the person who took the pencil is not known.
