This unit's straightforwardness was very helpful, and the material gave me a comprehensive understanding of why fostering students' receptive skills is integral. The example "Patchwork" lesson plan, the emphasis on choosing texts, and the recommendation to "pre-teach" vocabulary as to not confuse less experienced students, were particularly helpful. Once again, I grasped that designing your lesson plan to engage your pupils is just as important as the content within the instructional materials themselves.
