Unit 5 reviewed methods for managing classes. This included techniques of teacher body language, varying the groupings of students for maximum effectiveness for each activity and the physical arrangement of the classroom bearing in mind the different activities planned for the students. Advantages and disadvantages of the teachers positioning was also reviewed. Finally, recommendations for managing problematic behaviors in the classroom were discussed. I have learned helpful pointers on engaging the class members with rapport building techniques and in some cases what NOT to do to ensure a smooth running class.
