Here Below you can check out the feedback (for one of our units) of one of the 16.000 students that last year took an online course with ITTT!

This unit focuses on equipment and teaching aids that a teacher can make use of during a lesson. It begins with the most common item - the white board but covers diverse equipment including overhead projectors, videos, cd's, dictionaries and computers. Probably the most useful section for me were the simple principles it identifies for using when writing on the board. Planning ahead what will go on a board and ensuring that the information is clear and legible and well laid out seems to me to be extremely important. I didn't know that lower case letters are easier to read than capitalised letters. The unit briefly talks about interactive whiteboards and overhead projectors but I found the more useful tips to be connected to more basic equipment like visual aids. It seems to me that visual aids are simple, useful times that can be reused constantly without any necessary technology and I liked the suggestion to use them as stimulation for discussion and eliciting language. I found the sections dealing with DVD's and video cameras to also be very useful. The huge advances in technology over the last few years means that many if not all students have cameras on phones and the suggestion about allowing students to record their activities as a means for analysing their english and also getting them more engaged in a lesson is useful. This is also true for using small clips from DVD's. Finally the list of online sources provided at the end of the unit is excellent I intend to spend some time browsing these sites and bookmarking the ones I find most helpful.
