In this unit Teaching a new Language I learned how important vocabulary was to students, especially in the early stages of learning a new language. Its often difficult to choose what vocabulary to teach to students but in this unit I learned a few of some criteria that would be very useful. Appropriacy to the students is very important, as is the appropriacy to the task. Frequency and coverage and teachability are just a few criteria that you should use when teaching a new language. I laso learned what students need to know about vocabulary, they need to learn the meaning, what, how and when to use, spelling, pronunciation and along with interaction and the word grammar. These are all important factors to teach to new students.
