This was a helpful demonstration of how a teacher's attitude and behavior affects the mod and engagement of the students. It is clearly important that an environment is created where students feel safe and are comfortable with making mistakes, knowing that the teacher will not sharply reprimand or belittle them. By giving all members of the class ample opportunities to participate, students stay engaged and invested.
