Here Below you can check out the feedback (for one of our units) of one of the 16.000 students that last year took an online course with ITTT!

In this unit we covered the basic elements of teaching receptive language (reading and listening) skills, including the reasons for reading and listening; how we read and listen; problems with listening and reading for learners; and how to structure lessons for teaching these skills. One of the more interesting aspects of the lesson for me was in seeing how the different ways we read -- using predictive skills, scanning, skimming, reading for detailed information and deduction from context -- can be selected for strengthening using different types of exercises before and after reading the full text. It made clear that teaching reading -- or listening, though this was covered less in the unit -- is really teaching all of these skills. In addition to teaching these specific reading/listening skills, lessons that focus on reading/listening also connect to teaching other language points (vocabulary, grammar), and it's important to be clear in lesson plan how these elements interact with one another. This also implies making clear choices about which elements to emphasize or focus on throughout the lesson.
